Strength and Balance Skills for Kids

Stepping over an obstacle promotes balance and coordination skills. The child requires to stand on one leg to step over an obstacle, and also coordinate their vision with the movements of their body to adapt to the height of the object and the length of their step. In this video, a 3 y.o. girl with a diagnosis of spina bifida is stepping inside two boxes which are placed on a moving surface which adds another challenge to her balance. By providing support by the thighs, the knees or the ankles, the child will need to learn the adjustments in their body to maintain their balance.
