We also love providing educational resources that support families, parents, communities and practitioners through our blog posts and training sessions.
Lorena Vargas, PT
I’m Lorena Vargas, founder of Sol Shine Physical Therapy. My journey as a physical therapist began in 2006 when I earned my degree from the Universidad del Valle in Colombia, followed by a specialization in Neurorehabilitation at the Autónoma University of Manizales in 2008. After moving to the United States, I completed a Master’s in Health Administration at Regis University in Denver in 2017, and validated my Physical Therapy degree through the University of the State of New York in 2018.
I have extensive experience helping babies with torticollis, plagiocephaly (flat head), and gross motor delays, as well as children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Down syndrome, and other neurological conditions. My passion is supporting children in reaching their fullest potential, while empowering families with the knowledge and tools to support their child’s growth.
Beyond the clinic, I consult and teach around the world, sharing knowledge with physical therapy students, healthcare professionals, and families of children with disabilities. These experiences have shaped my commitment to advocating for community-based programs that improve access to rehabilitation and quality of life — especially in communities facing limited resources and poverty.

Non Invasive Spinal Electrical Stimulation — NISE-Stim
This therapy was developed in 2017 uses gentle, safe electrical currents delivered through electrodes placed on the spinal cord and the muscles we want to work on. By improving the connection between nerves and muscles, NISE-Stim helps activate and strengthen muscles, improve coordination, and support motor, sensory, and autonomic functions — giving children opportunities to learn new movements and gain greater independence.
